This class is Intermediate/ Beginner Level (with modifications for beginners).

Great for calming down on days when you feel stressed out; for recovery from injury; while healing. Great for nourishing the adrenals; building the yin reserves. Great to do on days when you are tired, exhausted or emotional. Great if struggling with insomnia but because we are doing plenty of passive backbends it can have a calming, yet invigorating effect both for your nervous system and mood. So I would recommend it for periods of insomnia yet done earlier in the day rather than right before bed. If you find a different application for this class please share in the comments.

Personally, I have been using this sequence when I need to nourish my soul. My baby has been teething and if I feel tired I would go to this class. After I am done I feel strangely awake and optimistic.

On a fun note this class was very resistant to being recorded. Some classes just have that mojo. I persevered for a few days and although it is not perfect I managed to get it done and get it to you.

EXPECT:

  1. HIP ALIGNMENT POSES
  2. SHOULDER ALIGNMENT POSES
  3. SPINE / POSTURAL ADJUSTMENTS
  4. RECLINING POSES
  5. PASSIVE INVERSIONS
  6. SHOULDER AND CHEST OPENERS
  7. IT BAND AND OBLIQUE STRETCHES
  8. SOME NEW PHYSICAL THERAPY INSPIRED POSES
  9. Planks- Camel
  10. Some modified pushups (make no mistake- this class is mostly yin floor poses)
  11. FOAM ROLLER- DEEP TISSUE ROLLER 

 

The class is very gentle and very nourishing for the body. Do come back to it on days when you feel under the weather or not optimally. our bodies need both activity and rest and this class fall under “rest category”. It can also boost your immunity due to being great for lowering cortisol levels. (one of the studied effects that yoga has on the human body)
